 RENNtech Stage I Turbo upgrade for the AMG 53 | M256 | AMG 3.0L Inline-6 engine.

RENNtech has been at the forefront of ECU tuning for over 30 years. Through our experience, countless hours of in-house Research & Development, and extensive testing we ensure that all RENNtech Performance upgrades offer incredible performance gains as well as rock-solid reliability.

The RENNtech Stage I Turbo -upgrade package for the Mercedes-Benz M256 -engine was developed to address and prevent possible OEM turbo failures when increasing the power output of the AMG 53 | M256 | AMG 3.0L Inline-6 engine. 

With a strengthened turbo cartridge shaft, larger intake and exhaust impellers, and upgraded bearings the M256 Turbo upgrade is engineered to handle and deliver maximum power and torque. The use of new high quality, light weight components compensate for turbo lag despite their increased size. The impeller and turbine housings are precision CNC machined and flow tested in-house to fit the larger internal cartridge which is balanced as a complete assembly prior to installation.

The RENNtech Stage I M256 Turbo Upgrade isn’t just an OEM turbo charger with machined internals; but a dramatically larger, more powerful turbocharger capable increasing the power of the AMG 53 series. The result is nothing short of spectacular with gains up to 69 HP and 50 lb-ft, delivering up to 505 HP and 460 LB-FT with solid reliability and longevity.

Notes:

  • This Turbo Upgrade requires an additional core charge, which will be credited upon return of OEM turbo core to RENNtech
  • We have found the new M256 engine stock performance numbers vary from the baseline figures claimed by Mercedes Benz. We typically see higher baseline numbers than claimed by the factory. Numbers will be dependent on conditions and fuel quality.
  • Power gains are calculated with stock numbers measured by RENNtech
  • To reach the maximum power level, RENNtech downpipe, BOV adapters and high-flow air filters are required.
  • Published figures are dependent on conditions and fuel quality. 93+ Octane gasoline is mandatory with the Stage I and Stage II Turbo Performance Package.

TURBO UPGRADE CORE EXCHANGE POLICY DISCLAIMER

RENNtech carefully selects the turbo cores we use for use in our turbo upgrades. The units may show light aesthetic imperfections which may in no way interfere with the functionality of the turbo. We do not accept damaged cores in exchange for new units.

All replacement cores are completely disassembled, cleaned, and inspected prior to mechanical upgrades. RENNtech replaces original parts with new components for upgraded function and performance. If you wish to have a new turbo core, please contact our sales department prior to order. Ordering a new turbo core will increase turnaround time and cost.

53 AMG EQ Boost (MY2018+ | M256 | 3.0L I6 Turbo EQ Boost) Stock Performance (at crank):

  • Rated by Mercedes-Benz:                        429 HP @ 6,100rpm; 384 LB-FT @ 1,800-5,800rpm
  • Dyno measured by RENNtech:               436 HP @ 6,000rpm; 410 LB-FT @ 4,000rpm
    • Note: Mercedes M256 engine performance when measured on the dyno obtains higher power numbers than rated from factory. Performance numbers published by MBUSA are a calculated average within a specific rpm range, which obviously result  in lower power numbers than at the peak. HP and TQ gains calculated by RENNtech are always based on peak stock results measured by RENNtech and upgraded peak results measured by RENNtech.
    • For transparency and comparability, RENNtech published the average stock power during the rpm range set by MBUSA and the peak stock performance
