
Powered by RENNtech’s R3 Performance package the 2021 AMG GT Black Series generates 1066 horsepower and 831 lb-ft of torque resulting in the most powerful vehicle developed by RENNtech and the most powerful street legal AMG in the World.
Measured on RENNtech’s in-house DYNO the R3 -upgrade increases the power output to 938 WHP and 731 WTQ, the AMG GT Black Series gains up to 282 WHP and 163 WTQ over the DYNO measured stock figure of 656 WHP 568 WTQ. RENNtech was able to significantly increase the area under the curve, especially in the most important rpm range between 5,500RPM and 7,000RPM with peak gains of +321 HP and +185 LB-FT. The R3 Performance Package was developed and tested running on standard 93 octane gas, adding convenience for track and street driving.
Engineered for the M178 BiTurbo LS2 V8 powerplant found in the AMG GT Black Series, the R3 upgrade includes RENNtech Stage II Turbo’s, ECU+ programming, Stainless Steel Downpipes with 200 cell catalytic converters, TCU tune, Performance Clutch, Blow Off Valves, and BMC Air Filters.
Turbo Upgrade with lightweight forged billet turbo wheel features a dramatically larger-than stock impeller (inlet side) and an increase in the turbine trim (exhaust side). The combination of high quality, lightweight components compensates for turbo lag despite being a functionally much larger turbo. The cartridge supporting shaft is both larger and stronger designed to handle the larger wheel and additional power, and the cartridge is balanced as a complete assembly to safely allow for these increases. The impeller and turbine housings are then precision CNC machined and flow tested in-house to fit the larger internal cartridge. With this RENNtech was able to significantly increase the area under the curve, especially in the most important rpm range between 5,500RPM and 7,000RPM with peak gains of +321 HP and +185 LB-FT.
More power isn’t the only performance benefit as our turbos spool quicker, offer a more responsive throttle and immediate power delivery thanks to a reduction in exhaust back pressure, rolling resistance, higher RPM's and a lighter rotating mass. In addition, our turbo upgrade kit functions with the OEM oil and coolant lines.
Transmission Control Unit (TCU) -upgrade is engineered for faster and more firm shifts while increasing the torque capacity of the AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7G transmission. RENNtech TCU upgrade is optimized for faster acceleration by matching the power output of our ECU and Turbo upgrades. Combined with RENNtech's Performance Clutch upgrade results in a smoother driving experience under normal conditions, while performance driving becomes more effective with increased torque capacity, and faster shifting times.
