RENNtech logo NEW small v2b

After the enormous success of the Sprinter Extreme Concept at the 2016 Chicago Auto-Show, MBUSA teamed up on another collaboration with RENNtech, Mercedes-AMG’s elite high-performance tuner. After turning a Sprinter into a Hulk like Monster, RENNtech has transformed the Metris Worker Van into a fully functional Toolbox on wheels.

In 2015, Mercedes-Benz Vans USA started their Upfitter Program ‘Master Solutions’ in the United States. Customers can customize the Sprinter and Metris Worker Vans to meet a variety of vocations, depending on if they are an electrician, carpenter or food delivery service.

To perfectly showcase the possibilities of their new program, MBUSA Vans turned yet again to their high-performance tuner and custom concept specialist RENNtech. By developing a fully integrated opening within the driver side and fitting an electronic actuated clamshell door into the Metris Van, RENNtech unveils the versatile interior of the rear cargo area. The vast side-opening creates an easy to see showcase of all the details and shelving units by the two selected Upfitter companies; Ranger Design and Sortimo by Knapheide.

The exterior design of this concept van is heavily inspired by an actual Toolbox. Added to the roof of the vehicle is an enormous handle, which gives you the perception that you could just pick it up and carry it away to your next job site. The 3D-style wrap in addition to the structural cladding features attached to the outside, visually transforms the vehicle into a van-sized Toolbox.

In the interior, the Toolbox concept received ambient light to showcase the customized shelving units and the highly durable floor structure.

The Mercedes-Benz USA Toolbox Van concept by RENNtech was unveiled at North America’s largest automotive exhibition, the 2017 Chicago Auto Show. The Toolbox Van Concept will also be shown at The Work Truck Show, Indianapolis in March 2017 and the New York International Auto Show in April 2017.

Car spotting has transformed into a full blown sport for car enthusiasts, thanks to social media and the recent popularity explosion in the supercar scene. Every car-spotters dream is to someday own one of the very supercars they’re chasing. Constantly trying to capture the perfect picture or shoot the next viral automotive video. Enter Paul Wallace, seven years ago Paul decided to share his passion with the world and created his own YouTube Channel – Supercars of London.

SOL just recently hit the 500,000 subscribers’ milestone, making Paul one of the most followed supercar enthusiasts in the world. In the early days of SOL, Paul spent his spare time in the busiest and most highly affluent streets of South Kensington, London, trying to get the best shots of the rich and famous elusive supercars. Paul’s natural talent of creating unique and visually stunning content quickly became apparent, which rapidly turned his YouTube channel into a massive success. The fruits of his labor finally paid off and Paul not only became well known as an elite YouTube personality, but also made the SOL brand profitable.

Paul had turned Supercars of London into a real business. At the young age of only 23, he was able to make one of his dreams come true and purchased his very first supercar, an Audi R8. His car spotting channel quickly evolved into ‘real world’ reviews of the R8 and the process of modifying the car, which helped take Supercars of London to the next Level.

In 2015, after owning the Audi R8 for a year, Paul decided to add another supercar to the Supercars of London garage. In one of his most competitive review competitions, the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 made the cut. While owning a Lamborghini was a dream come true for Paul, he came to realize the bull was not exactly a comfortable road trip car. Paul was constantly on the road, traveling to events and shows all over Europe. His next vehicle needed to be enjoyable during these longer trips, without sacrificing the supercar aspect.

One of the finalists was the all-new Mercedes-Benz AMG GT S. Paul however, was not 100% convinced that the AMG GT S had established itself as a true supercar. A simple Instagram video of the RENNtech AMG GT S project car changed his mind quickly. With its performance, exhaust and exterior upgrades; RENNtech has transformed the AMG GT S into a real supercar with hypercar capabilities. Paul’s decision was made, Supercars of London’s next supercar had to be the AMG GT S and a collaboration with RENNtech was mandatory.

RENNtech unveiled the first prototype of their AMG GT S project car at the 2015 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. Since then, the RENNtech modifications have gone through rigorous testing and countless development miles on the world’s most demanding race track, the Nürburgring-Nordschleife. With 154 turns throughout a grueling 13 miles of pavement and a total altitude change of 984ft, the Nordschleife has proven to reveal the true potential of the RENNtech GT S performance. Rest assured, the products tested and validated in the Green Hell are ready for the streets.

In the first upgrade stage, RENNtech equipped Paul Wallace’s True Blood wrapped AMG GT S with their R1 Performance Package. The R1 consists of a proprietary ECU Upgrade, Stainless Steel Downpipes with 200 Cell Sport Catalytic Converters, Blow-Off Valve adapters and high-flow air filters.

This RENNtech R1 equipped AMG GT S has truly unleashed the Red Beast. The 4.0L V8 BiTurbo now produces 625HP and 601 LB-FT of torque, overpowering Mercedes-AMG’s newest addition to the GT lineup, the AMG GT R. The RENNtech Downpipes ensure that everyone knows an angry supercar is lurking nearby, before it can even be spotted. After unleashing its newfound power during a mandatory lap on the Nordschleife, the Red Beast now deserves the title ‘Tested in the Green Hell’.

With the success of Stage 1, the collaboration between RENNtech and Supercars of London has only just begun. Make sure to check out the videos of the transformation, test lap on the Nordschleife and RENNtech Europe HQ tour. Stay tuned to see what’s planned next for the Red Beast.

OFFICIAL: MERCEDES-BENZ PRESS RELEASE

Sprinter Extreme concept has super strength, unlimited capability

It's big, stretching over 20 feet from end-to-end. It's over 95" tall. It knows how to haul, with 6,400 lbs. of payload capacity and a towing capacity of nearly 4-tons. The heavy-duty Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Cab Chassis is a powerhouse ready to take on the toughest tasks. Now, with the help of RENNtech, the Sprinter Extreme has transformed into the ultimate work machine concept.

"The Sprinter Cab Chassis is the most capable heavy-duty vehicle in its segment," said Bernie Glaser, Vice President of Mercedes-Benz Vans in the USA. "The Sprinter Extreme concept has super-strength, unlimited hard-working capability and an aggressive design. Unlike most concepts, the foundation for the Sprinter Extreme can be ordered at a Mercedes or Freightliner dealership today with the help of our MasterUpfitter program."

RENNtech completes Cab Chassis customization; makes Sprinter Extreme

Long-time Mercedes-Benz customizer RENNtech added numerous touches to the Sprinter Cab Chassis in order to bring it from mild to wild. Starting at the front, a custom roof rack was built to support six forward-facing lights while additional spotlights are positioned on the sides of the roof rack. A custom brush guard complete with additional fog lights and a powerful winch are located beneath the Sprinter 3500's front bumper.

A suspension lift package raises the Sprinter Extreme above six G-Class-inspired beadlock wheels and aggressive off-road tires. Custom rear fenders were fabricated to provide additional clearance for suspension travel and tire clearance. Finishing off the Sprinter Extreme's look is an eye-catching vinyl wrap and chrome exhaust stacks situated on either side of the cab.

Sprinter 3500 Cab Chassis: A heavy-duty platform ready to take on any task
From the factory, the Sprinter 3500 Cab Chassis is incredibly versatile, providing an ideal platform for buses, RVs, ambulances and box bodies, just to name a few. Equipped as standard with a powerful 4-Cylinder BlueTEC diesel engine combined with an efficient 7-speed "7G-TRONIC" transmission, the Sprinter Cab Chassis has a best-in-class payload capacity of up to 6,400 lbs. and can tow up to 7,500 lbs. The Sprinter Cab Chassis can not only haul a tremendous payload, it can also transport three people, with its available three-abreast seating.

The Sprinter 3500 Cab Chassis is the ideal starting point for any upfit project with its flat, lightweight frame rails and numerous factory wiring options. Two wheelbases are available to choose from—141 inches or 170 inches—ensuring that the Sprinter Cab Chassis can meet any upfitting need. Further upfitter customization is possible by ordering the Cab Chassis as a "Cutaway," available without a back wall and roof.

Scattolini ScattoMaax "Tipper Bed" transforms 3500 Cab Chassis into ultimate work machine

The Sprinter Extreme concept has also been equipped with a Scattolini ScattoMaax "Tipper Bed" for expanded capability in a variety of environments. Available as a part of the MasterUpfitter program, this unique bed is already available to customers and allows the Sprinter Extreme to dump over 5,200 lbs. of payload to either side or to the rear. This three-way tipping capability provides added flexibility to an already convenient platform.
